Seminar Overview


The technical details required to make the Mining
Industry grow at a rate greater than 10% CAGR is
known to everyone. There is an urgent need for the
industry to adopt the recent development in technology
to meet the present day challenges. The hinderances
need to be tackled for faster conversion of leases into
production centers. There is a need to convince people
to cooperate for nation’s growth. Dealing the issues of
re-locating people, cooperation from administration and
Political system will ensure that everyone grows. These
are few but many questions that we need to ponder
upon and work together to strategize to ensure faster
growth of Mining Industry.

The National Seminar on “Mining Industry: Challenges &
Opportunities” (MICO’13) plans to engage the Stalwarts
of the industry for yet another session to dig deeper
into specific areas pertaining to Mining Industry in coal,
non-coal and oil sector.

To have a sustainable growth in energy sector the prime
objective of this Seminar is to address the issues related
to current Opportunities and Challenges facing Mining
Industry in coal, non-coal and oil sector.

The Seminar theme may be addressed from the following key area:
Technology: new technologies, washing and
beneficiation, drilling and exploration, underground
mining technology,CBM,CMM.

Safety and environment: safety management,
environment friendly technology, measures for
protecting environment, safety issues in oil sector
Energy security for sustainable growth
Green field operations: land issues, clearances,
outsourcing and project finance models, CSR, human
resource, etc
Innovation: R & D adoptability in industry and
automation etc.
